Valentine’s Weekend Adoption Event
CAWL’s fabulous volunteers spent this past weekend adopting out some amazing dogs during PetSmart’s National Adoption Weekend. Scores of our dogs and volunteers could be found at the Gartrell PetSmart in Aurora.
CAWL partners with local petstores to host adoption events for the animals in our program. These events give CAWL the opportunity to present our charges for adoption as we are currently a foster-only based program.
Lucky dogs that found homes this weekend included: Paige - a Beagle Mix, Petey - a young Catahoula mix, Lola - a Greyhound mix and our senior of the weekend - Henry, a handsome six year old Shepherd who had been surrendered by his previous family. CAWL also recieved applications for several other dogs at the event.
Congratulations to all of our very special dogs that we hope have now found their “furever” homes and congratulations to all of the families that adopted this past weekend!

We just wanted to say “thank you so much for Bubba”, we adopted him from you this past weekend. He’s adjusting quite well. We start our training this weekend. Hannah is just in love with him and he is with her. He’s starting to get pretty protective of her. He learning his way around the house and starting to meet some of his neighbors that he will hopefully be friends with for a long time. Thanks again.
Thank you so much for letting us know how well Bubba is adjusting to his new family. We LOVE to hear success stories about our former dogs!!
